Rwanda and Finland sign MOU on strategic partnerships in Energy sector

Join Forces for Clean Energy Revolution with Memorandum of Understanding

Finland and Rwanda have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on strategic partnership in the field of energy. The MOU was signed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland and the Ministry of Infrastructure of Rwanda.

The main objective of this MOU is to promote and strengthen the ties of cooperation between the two participants. This cooperation will be based on the principles of equality and mutual benefit and will take into account the experience and expertise of each participant.

The areas of cooperation under this MOU include, but are not limited to, the evolution towards renewable energy and clean technologies, energy efficiency and demand-side management, flexible state-of-the-art energy systems, storage solutions and integration technologies, hydrogen, Power-to-X solutions, clean energy transition with future proof systemic solutions, and research and development in the field of smart energy.

The cooperation activities may be developed through various forms, such as promoting public and private investment, joint research and development, exchange of experts, technicians and scientists, exchange of technology, experience, information and best practices, promotion of business cooperation, facilitating cooperation between innovation agencies, research organizations, associations and companies, and any other arrangement in the areas of cooperation jointly decided by the participants.

In conclusion, this MOU on strategic partnership in the field of energy between Finland and Rwanda is a significant step towards strengthening the ties of cooperation between the two countries. It will contribute to the promotion of friendly relations between the two countries and will also help in the evolution towards renewable energy and clean technologies, energy efficiency, and demand-side management. The MOU is a clear indication of the commitment of both countries to work together for mutual benefit and progress.
