Sweden’s New Ambassador to Rwanda Presents Letters of Credence

Rwanda welcomed H.E. Henrik Nilsson, the newly appointed Ambassador of Sweden to Rwanda, following the presentation of copies of his Letters of Credence to Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Olivier Jean Patrick Nduhungirehe, in Kigali.

Ambassador Nilsson was appointed by the Government of Sweden in March 2026 and is expected to serve in Kigali from the autumn of 2026. He brings extensive diplomatic experience, having previously served as Sweden’s Ambassador to Pristina and held postings at the Swedish embassies in Bangkok and Tokyo. He has also served in senior positions at Sweden’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs, including within the Unit for International Development Cooperation.

Minister Nduhungirehe congratulated Ambassador Nilsson on his appointment and reaffirmed Rwanda’s commitment to further strengthening and deepening the longstanding bilateral partnership between Rwanda and Sweden.

The Embassy of Rwanda in Stockholm looks forward to continued collaboration with Ambassador Nilsson and the Embassy of Sweden in advancing cooperation across areas of mutual interest.
