Rwandans living in Sweden and their friends celebrated Kwibohora30 and the successful Presidential and Parliamentary elections

On the evening of July 20th, the Rwandan Ambassador to Sweden hosted a gathering at the Rwandan Embassy residence. Around one hundred and fifty people, including Rwandans and friends from Burundi, Congo, DRC, the Republic of Congo, Malawi, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Benin, and Sweden, participated in discussions about Rwanda's progress and the history of its liberation struggle.

Mr. Karara Jean Noel, leader of the Rwandan community in Sweden, explained the significance of Liberation Day to Rwandans, sharing his family's experiences in exile. He expressed the joy of regaining their rights to their country over the past 30 years. He also noted that the atrocities ended by the RPF Inkotanyi, led by His Excellency Paul Kagame, are difficult truths for some to understand, which is why the election results have a simple meaning to Rwandans but are perceived differently by those who deny or overlook this history.

Madame Kibukayire Lucy, who participated in the liberation struggle from a young age, also expressed deep emotions and gratitude towards the RPF and President Kagame, honoring those who lost their lives fighting for the country.

Ambassador Gashumba Diane commended Rwandans in the Nordic countries for their peaceful and orderly conduct during the elections. She explained that voting for President Kagame and the RPF signifies choosing security, equal rights to the country's resources, equality, development, and other benefits brought by President Kagame.

She urged Rwandans to increase their involvement in the programs introduced by President Kagame and thanked them for the positive image they present in their communities.

The event featured dances, songs, and meals prepared by entrepreneur Madame Joelle Umutoni and her team.
